Valencia CF will kick off their preseason campaign this Saturday, 20 July, at 7 pm at the Estadi Antonio Puchades against CD Castellón.
Valencia CF and all attendees at the Estadi Antonio Puchades will observe a minute's silence in memory of José Cerveró, in the buildup to the game against CD Castellón on the occasion of their 24-25 pre-season opener.
José Cerveró, a Real de Montroi-born player who trained at the VCF Academy and went on to play for VCF Mestalla.
His great performances saw Di Stéfano ask him to join the first team and, from that moment on, he became a mainstay for the club. Ceveró played on the left wing for 10 seasons (1973-1983), in which he made 256 official appearances - 250 of them as a starter - and won 3 trophies (1979 Cup, 1980 Cup Winners' Cup and 1980 European Super Cup).
